The Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation was established by a group of individuals who attended Camp Thunderbird for Boys in its first season (1947). Knowing the value and rewarding experiences of a summer at camp, these Thunderbird alumni wished to foster and promote similar experiences for other children. Thus the Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation was established to provide funding for underprivileged kids to attend summer camp.
Today, with the help of generous donations, hundreds of children are able to attend Camp Thunderbird and other camps throughout the country. As a result, these children are building life skills just as you did when you attended camp. We believe very strongly that this experience is expanding their horizons, increasing their self-esteem and giving them a more positive sense of self-worth. For some children, it may even be helping them to see a brighter future for themselves and to approach that future with renewed optimism. Help us continue this endeavor by donating to the Speedy and Honey Memorial Camp Foundation today.
