Camp Thunderbird announces the release of "Willard's" original music CD....
To raise funds for the Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation!
Many of you remember “Willard” as a counselor / musical legend at camp between the years of 1971-1978, when he entertained both the boys and the girls in the lodge, at services, council fires, campfires, and Hootenany’s. “Willard” continued to sing for us during his many visits to camp between 1980-1984 and then during Post-Camp from 1995-1998. Anyone who made it to camp last summer for the Boy’s Camp 60th Anniversary Reunion, experienced “Willard” and “Epper” pickin’ and singin’ “Cosmic Cowboy” along with “Buckaroo” and many other camp favorites, throughout that nostalgia-filled weekend!
For those of you too young to remember “Willard,” you may know his kids: Lindsey “Nik” Byron, Casey “Rando” Byron and Amy "Lester" Byron.
The music Andy “Willard” Byron brought to camp is incredibly special. According to Rabbi Randy “Dylan” Fleischer, "Carolina in the Pines" is a Michael Murphey song that he cannot hear without immediately thinking of "Willard" singing it among the Minnesota pines, loons, sunsets, and stars.
Fifty percent of all proceeds from “Willard’s” first ever original music CD release called, “Somewhere or Nowhere” will be donated to The Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation which has been sending underprivileged kids to camp since 1948. To purchase CD's for $20 each, please visit Willard’s website at: www.andybyronmusic.com or call: 208-367-0804.
All of us at camp truly hope that you will support “Willard” in his efforts to raise funds for The Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation. We thank you in advance for purchasing this CD. By doing so, you will receive some awesome music and........truly impact a child’s life in a very tangible and important way.
