Life at camp is about togetherness. Eight to ten campers and their two to three staff members live in rustic, cozy cabins clustered together in small villages. While cabin groups are like camp families, villages are like camp neighborhoods. Some sit on the edge of the lake. Some are nestled up on the hill, surrounded by pines. Every village has its own campfire ring and its own clean, roomy shower house–shared spaces that build community. Each camp also has its own lodge where we have our meals, gather for special events, watch movies on movie night, and sing (a lot).

During the day, we play together, and we learn (sometimes without even realizing it). Whether we’re learning how to throw a pot or put up a tent or learning how to get along with people who are different than we are, we have fun doing it. Because at Camp Thunderbird, every day is different and every day is fun.
