Our campers and staff come from 40 U.S. cities as well as ten different countries. This broad-based geographic population adds an important dimension to the Thunderbird experience. Camp Thunderbird is a place where diverse cultures, ideals, and life experiences are accepted and shared, where people are appreciated for who they are. The relationships developed and the friendships forged in our community are the kind that last a lifetime. It is common for those who have joined the Thunderbird family - if only for a season - to re-connect with one another over and over again throughout their lives. It's not easy to describe the extended family that is Thunderbird. Many would say that coming to Thunderbird - whether for one season or ten - is like finding your way home.
